A day on Lake Mead

We got to go to Lake Mead with Lucas' brother Jason and his family one Saturday. They got a new boat and invited us along to go swimming and tubing. It was so fun. The kids had a blast. The boat was amazing and we had such a great time.

The 4th of July 2014

We celebrated the 4th of July in Alamo, Nevada this year. It's a family tradition now and it's also where my mam lives. We look forward to the small town parade. The kids love when the people on the floats throw candy and they run to grab as much as they can. They have booths with food and crafts to buy. They have a big water slide and jumpy house. They have Volleyball and Basketball tournaments going throughout the day and also a whole cowboy poetry program. We usually don't stay down long in town because it is so hot, so we go back to my mam's house to the air conditioning. My mam also has a pool, so the kids love to go swimming. My brother Scott and his girlfriend came down to visit from Utah and my brother-in-law Sam also came with his 4 kids. We had lots of fun. Later on, we went down to the park to get ready for the fireworks. There was a live band who were doing covers of lots of different famous hits. They were pretty good. The fireworks are the best!!! Seriously, you are sitting right under them and when they play the patriotic music along with them, it's really awesome. Such a fun day to celebrate America's Independance with family.

Aideen at 3 months

We took lots of pics of the lil puddin this month and I couldn't resist posting most of them. She has started recognizing all of us and the minute she makes eye contact with any of us, she instantly smiles and her face lights up. It's the sweetest thing. This girl is teething big time. She chews on anything she can get her hands on and is drooling like crazy. She refuses to sleep in her crib and is so content in mommy and daddy's bed. She takes up the whole middle and Lucas and I are perched on each of our sides. She's got more hair coming in and I detect maybe a little red in there. Lucas is happy about that. Aideen loves all her siblings. It's so nice to have older brother's who can come hold her, when I'm trying to get things done. She gets endless kisses all day from her sisters, who also love taking turns holding her. She loves bath time and the water puts her right to sleep almost immediately. She has also found her voice and likes to yell and squeel. We're loving this stage of Aideen's life and can't wait to see what fun things she'll continue to do next month.
