A trip to Alamo

We had a friend come to stay with us from Ireland over the weekend. We took him up to Alamo on Monday to stay with my Mam and her husband Malcolm. Although Alamo is only 100 miles away, we don't get up there to see my Mam as often as we'd like to. Gavin and Tyrone love going to Nanas house because she is an animal lover. She has 10 goats, 10 cats, ducks, chickens and a few roosters. The boys love being able to run on the land and chase the animals. It was a lovely day and it was nice to get out of Vegas for the day.

Happy Birthday Gavin!

Yesterday was Gavins 4th birthday. We started off the day by opening presents. Gavin had seen a diesel truck that we bought for his birthday almost 2 months ago. He has asked about his truck literally everyday for the past two months. He even found where we were hiding it. When he finally got to open this present yesterday, he actually screamed with delight. It was so sweet and funny. This is the first year where he really got into the birthday thing and knew it was his day and his presents. He was really good at sharing all his birthday gifts with Tyrone.

In the evening we went to a Ward party for Grandpa and Grandma Abbotts Ward where Grandpa was cooking. We had yummy Fajitas, Tacos, Watermelon, Icecream and best of all, Churros. The Ward had even rented two bounce houses, a Strawberry Shortcake and Spiderman, which happened to be the theme of Gavins party. There was also a little train going around the parking lot that was attached to a 4-wheeler. This was a huge hit with all the kids. Both Lucas' and some of my family were able to come to the Ward party which made it extra special. After dinner we went back to Grandma & Grandpa Abbotts house and had cake and opened presents. Gavin got lots of awesome presents and he made sure that all the presents were going home with him. We didn't get to bed till almost 10pm and both boys barely made it through bath time and were out in 5 minutes. What a day it was! I can't believe my baby is 4 years old.

Just a little vacation for me. Mandy and the boys stayed behind in Las Vegas. Dallas was playing, #51, so I had to make it to one of his games before he finishes this fall.

NFL- Week 1

The VICTORIOUS CHICAGO BEARS beat the Colts in an amazing 29-13 victory on Sunday night. Not much has been expected from this team, but hopefully the critics will recognize they are ready to return to the Superbowl and win.

With great Victory also comes loss. The San Francisco 49ers fell to 0-1 with a loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The final score was 23-13. We will still have hope for a better next week and I will fly my 49er colors proudly!

Brought to tears

Yesterday afternoon, while Tyrone was taking a nap, I was watching a birthing show on T.V. Gavin was trying to get my attention and I just kept telling him to go play with his truck and to let mommy have some time to watch her T.V show. He then pointed to a wedding picture we have up above the sofa. He said "That's Mommy and Daddy is kissing her." That got my attention and I said "Yes, and that's the temple behind us." He then said " Mommy is a princess and Daddy is a prince." It was so sweet and his little face was so sincere and innocent, that the tears started (it doesn't take much these days.) I felt so bad that he had been fighting with the T.V for my attention. Gavin has been such a good boy this week. He has been so helpful and I can just see he is growing up over night. The other day Tyrone had gotten in trouble and was crying because he was put in time-out. Gavin started playing the parent role where he told me to say sorry for making Tyrone cry and to give him hugs and kisses. I just love my little guys. They make everyday so special as a mom.

Precious moments!

I heard a clicking in my bathroom the other day and went in to find Tyrone sporting a pair of my high heels. He was so funny, especially with the Viking helmet on. It took me a while to convince him to take them off. It will be fun to show these photos to him when he is a teenager and thinks he is so cool and tough.

FOOTBALL IS HERE

It is that wonderful time of year when wives cry and husbands can cheer. Oh yes, Thursday night the madness will begin and will not end until the beginning of February! Gavin and Tyrone are in their Chicago Bears attire, and will hopefully cheer along with me this week. We are also proud 49ers fans.
