Aideen at 8 months

Aideen is so full of personality. She loves observing her surroundings. She loves to play with her big sisters. She loves tickles from daddy. Her favorite thing is bath time, she squeels with delight as she splashes in the water. This is Aideen's first Christmas too, which is always extra special as you see them take in the sights and sounds of this special season.

San Francisco

Lucas and I celebrated our 11 year Wedding Anniversary in San Francisco. It is one of the many places on our wish list to visit. We found really cheap plane tickets there and stayed 2 nights. We had little Aideen with us, so we had a stroller or baby carrier to carry her around. San Francisco is a beautiful city. We absolutely loved every minute. We flew out on Friday morning and got to our hotel about noon. We were staying by the airpot in Millbrae. It was about 20 minutes from the heart of the city. Luckily the BART station was right by our hotel. It was a fun experience figuring out the BART system, but people were really helpful and even went out of their way to get us on the right path when we got lost. On Friday after we checked into the hotel, we went to Fisherman's Wharf and explored the stores there and even found an Irish store called Treasure Ireland. The owner was from Dublin and we had a good chat with him. We ate at the famous Boudin Bakery and had their breadbowls with clam chowder. It was heaven. We went back the next day and had more, it was that good. Next we hiked up many a hill to Ghiradelli Square. What a fun place that is. We had a Brownie Sundae in the Ghiradelli cafe right as it started to rain outside. It was delicious. After that we headed back to the hotel for the night. We were exhausted. The next day, we headed out bright and early and went straight to China Town. That place is massive. We didn't get to see all of it as it would have taken up most of the day. We bought the kids some souvenirs in China Town and then headed to the Golden Gate Bridge. We took a Tram to Crissy Fields, a park by the bridge. It was about a mile walk all the way to the Bridge where we could take the obligatory picture with the bridge in the background. It was so nice, to walk by the ocean and there was a cool breeze. People were running, riding bikes or walking their dogs all along the beach. It felt so surreal, finally being there in person. We took our picture and hung out there for a while and then headed back. We were so tired from walking but decided to make our way to the Walt Disney Museum. We decided to take a tour of the museum, but didn't do the whole thing as it was long winded and Aideen was melting down. We ended up taking a taxi back to Fisherman's Wharf, we ate at Boudin's again and then made the long journey on public transportation back to the hotel. What a day that was. There was so much we didn't get to see. We just didn't have enough time and we were a little tied down with Aideen. We will defnitely go back someday and see all the other stuff. It was an epic trip all the same.
