Fun in February

February was a busy month. We took walks through Floyd Lamb Park. I'm so glad it is so close to us and that we got an annual pass. It's such a pretty, peaceful place to go and the kids love running around and exploring.  I hosted Isla's preschool class and we learned about the letter O. O is for Officer (Abbott.) Lucas and I had a few date nights without Aideen, it's been a while. We finally went to the Irish pub in Mandalay Bay called Ri Ra and enjoyed a delicious fry. It's was just like my dad's......maybe not as good, but pretty close. We took a trip to Utah to support Lucas' brother Andrew as he was getting a special ordination at church. We were able to see Grandpa Wood and other family members. What a special experience that was. Lucas took the boy scouts from our ward to tour his police station and they had a fun time and even got some police action figures to take home. For such a short month, it was full of great things.

Aideen at 10 months

Ten months old and growing so fast. Aideen is a speedster with crawling. She gets around so fast and has started maneuvering the stairs. She stopped nursing, which was a sad day for me, but she was ready. She had no problem transitioning to formula. She still has a great appetite and loves to try new foods, especially when she gets to eat what we are having for dinner. She's sleeping really well and I think it was a good choice to move her to her own room because she takes 2 naps a day and still sleeps at least 10 hours at night. Her hair is getting longer and she still has 2 teeth. She is a sweet little baby and loves to be in the middle of everything. She has a special bond with Tyrone. She loves playing with him and he loves to take care of her. This warms my heart. Aideen is loved by so many. She's a lucky girl.

Snow Day

We went up to Mount Charleston after there was a good snow fall. The kids had gotten some snow sleds for Christmas and wanted to try them out. It was really fun and the snow was perfectly powdery. The only downside is that we don't have the proper snow attire, so after about 10 minutes, the girls were melting down because their hands were freezing and their pants were wet and their toes were turning to ice. The boys were in heaven. They had a blast. Little Aideen loved it too and she even tried eating some snow.

Lucas is 33

Lucas was 33 on January 28. He got some workout shirts and some cologne. The kids were excited to wake him up and sing Happy Birthday. After the kids went to school, we dropped Isla and Aideen off to at my friend's house and Lucas and I went for a little date. We had Zabas Mexican and then we went to some athletic stores and Lucas picked up 2 baseball caps. Lucas and I embarqued on a pact of 100 days without sugar that started January 1. Lucas was a trooper and decided he wouldn't have any cake for his birthday. We bought some cupcakes for the kids and Lucas blew out the candles. It was a great birthday. I am so lucky to have this wonderful man as my love and partner for life. He is such a great dad and such a hard worker for our family. People may not believe it, but he is rarely moody. He is so cheerful and positive and he loves to make us laugh. Anyone who is lucky enough to know him, can't help but love him. I am the luckiest of all.

Aideen at 9 months

Aideen was not feeling so great for this picture in the wingback chair. This is the first time she has been sick. She had an ear infection and I didn't even know it because she was her usual chipper self. She is so easy going, most of the time. She has a great appetite and loves most of the baby food I offer to her. She sleeps great and is finally moving. She has decided she would rather roll to get to where she wants than to crawl the traditional way. It works for her and she is pretty fast. She loves this new found freedom and we have to be quick because she loves getting into cupboards and pulling on the end of the blinds. Her hair is getting longer and I managed to get a little ponytail on top. She got her toenails painted for the first time and even at some snow when we took a little trip up Mount Charleston. She's growing so fast.  We love our lil puddin so much.
